In each year, an estimation of more than eight million tons of plastic gets accumulated in the oceans and even more accumulates littering the natural environment on land. The world has now produces more than 380 million tonnes of plastic every year, which could end up as pollutants, entering our natural environment and oceans. This plastic pollution will destroy the livelihood of many terrestrial and is destroying many aquatic organisms life.



Industry experts expect that by 2050, we will be producing three times as much plastic as compare to today's quantity of plastic and on the volume basis, there will  be more plastic than fish in the world's oceans.


How Plastic Pollution Affects Nature?


Plastic pollution is the accumulation of plastic objects and particles in the Earth's environment that harshly affects humans, wildlife and their habitat.


And, plastic takes too long time as plastic bottles take up to 450 years to decompose in landfill.


It threatens ocean healths, the health of marine life, food safety and quality, human health, coastal tourism, and it is also contributing to climate change.





Chlorinated plastic can release harmful and toxic chemicals into the surrounding soil, which can then seep into our groundwater or other surrounding water sources, and also the ecosystem. This can cause a range of potentially harmful and toxic effects on the species that drink water.

The word "plastic" to which we all are familiar with. we can also estimated the worst influence of it in our future life but the usage of plastic in our daily life is increasing day by day. 


Packaging was the dominant use of primary plastics with 42 percent of plastic entering the use phase. Building and construction was the second largest sector utilizing 19 percent of the total.




Rwanda became the world's first 'plastic-free' nation in 2009, 10 years after it introduced a ban on every plastic bags and plastic packaging.

And, Of the amount of plastic that has been produces as waste, only 9 percent has been recycled and the vast majority is accumulating in landfills or sloughing off in the environment as litter that is 79 percent of the total wasted plastic.


According to statistics, China with 59,079,741 tons, United States with 37,825,550 tons and Germany with 14,476,561 tons has recorded as top countries with the most plastic pollution.

How to avoid plastic usage in our day-to-day life?

To avoid the usage of plastic in our day-to-day life, there are some easy but vital measures suggested below that you can easily apply in your day-to-day lifestyle:


The major step by tacking which you can reduce major amount of plastic pollution. That is Try To Ignore Single-use Plastics. You could find many alternatives of this to use in your everyday life.




Buy reusable plastic water bottle instead of disposable plastic water bottle. Or even you can take your own water bottle as much as possible. You could replace your single-use plastic grocery bag to single-use paper bags or jute bags. And can get many more alternatives of single-use plastic to reduce plastic pollution.


Before buying plastic or plastic packed things, you should check - Is this recyclable or not?. There are many verities of plastics today, so we need to figure out the one that you can recycle.
